  5. The Doctors: Stroke & Aphasia Airs...

What happens if someone has a stroke at 10 years of age? That’s the story of David Dow, who will be featured on the popular TV show, The Doctors, on Tuesday, April 25, 2017. The story of David’s stroke with aphasia and his incredible journey with his family over the last 20 years has many connections to the Tampa Bay area.

First, Dr. Jackie Hinckley, Executive Director of Voices of Hope for Aphasia, is one of the speech pathologists who worked with David during his early rehabilitation years. Now, she leads the ONLY community-based stroke and aphasia nonprofit in West Central Florida, Voices of Hope for Aphasia.

Members of the organization are local citizens who have their own stories of stroke and aphasia. Our members are ready and willing to come to your group or organization and share their own story of stroke and aphasia.
