SAVE THE DATE: September 30 – October 1, 2016 are the dates for this year’s conference, featuring internationally known invited speakers and a unique, interactive format that combines the perspectives of people living with aphasia with professionals.
Dr. Audrey Holland, internationally renowned for her lifetime career in aphasia and related disorders, will be the featured speaker this year at the conference. She will present to professionals on how to use the “in-between moments” of therapy to motivate and counsel clients. Her approach will detail with clinical examples the work from her very successful text, Counseling in Communication Disorders: A Wellness Perspective. ASHA CEUs will be offered.
People living with aphasia and their families will have their own set of presentations and opportunities to meet and support each other. Dr. Holland will lead one of these sessions, along with Mary Lee Zawadski and Dr. Erfan Albakri, both highly rated speakers from last year who attendees requested to return.
