  5. Online Group Sessions Keep Us Connected

On Thursday, March 12th, we suspended our in-person group activities, but by the very next Monday, March 16thVoices of Hope for Aphasia was ready to offer our important programming to our members via Zoom and Facebook. We were one of the first nonprofit programs to pivot and we will continue to operate under this model until it is safe for our members to return to our regular groups.

The number of sessions we offer each week changes based on demand. The week of March 30th, we held 9 different sessions with a total attendance of 97 members – up 70 from the prior week! This week, we are offering 13 sessions including breakouts and a Family Game Night – we hope to be able to serve over 100. A new calendar is released each Friday. Click here to see this week’s schedule.

On March 31st, Dr. Jackie Hinckley joined our session as our special guest. She answered questions about her dog, about life in Ft. Lauderdale, and how to keep practicing during a quarantine. Thank you, Jackie, for sharing your time and expertise with us!
